Larry Taff MCR, GCP, UDCP, CAPS – President
Larry has over 60 years experience in remodeling and construction, including active/passive solar homes. He has been a Realtor for over 40 years. After growing up in the business under the tutelage of his grandfather and father, Larry started TZ of Madison in 1992 with his wife Karen Ziegler Taff. In addition to being a NARI Master Certified Remodeler and Green Certified Professional, Larry earned his NAHB Certified Aging in Place designation in 2007 and was also one of the first contractors to be NARI certified in Universal Design in the country. This designation teaches strategies and techniques for building aesthetically enriching, barrier-free living environments for homeowners. Larry enjoys land conservation projects and farming on his family land. A true outdoorsman spends his free time hunting, boating and walking the woods with his dog, Hobbes.

Karen Ziegler Taff – Vice President
In addition to overseeing office and marketing decisions at TZ, Karen is also President of her family’s business Madison Sand & Gravel Company. Karen learned the business from her father and now runs the company with her son, Jacob. Karen loves summer and can often be found boating on the weekends with Larry, Hobbes and a whole passel of friends and family.
Jesse Taff, CAPS –
Vice President, Onsite Project Manager
Jesse is a fourth-generation carpenter in the Taff family and has been holding a hammer since he could walk. In addition to carpentry, Jesse handles the onsite project management and estimating duties. He is instrumental in every aspect of running the company. Jesse recently had the unique opportunity to work on a project that was built by his grandfather in the 1940’s. Jesse is the consummate outdoorsman. He has great respect for nature and enjoys outdoor activities like fishing and hunting. He recently earned his Big Game Guide Certification in New Mexico. Jesse has earned certifications from NARI, Universal Design Certified Professional, NAHB, Certified Aging Place (CAPS) as well as Lead Safe Work certification.
Kristin Kanitz – Marketing Consultant
Kristin has over 30 years of experience in advertising, marketing and business administration. Her duties at TZ include overseeing the company marketing. Kristin is an avid cyclist and loves to downhill ski with her family.
